Chuck Dobson’s outstanding month of August came crashing diwn upon his feet as the Indians simply pummeled him, racking up 10 hits on the way to scoring 8 runs of him in his short stint. Reliever Jack Aker faired not better as Erie boys batted around on him while adding to the lead. As it turned out, one run would have sufficed with a Steve Hargan throwing zeroes at the home club.

NOTES: How about Steve Hargan. Lowered his league leading ERA to a minuscule 1.53. He gad quite the month of August, going 7-0 with an ERA OF 0.56 that included 4 shutouts. And he was no slouch on the other side either, going 6-13 in his last three games! Poor Larry Brown, got left at the altar, being the only Indian without a hit in this contest. Chuck Dobson has the dubious honor of leading the A’s in losses.

And the O’s did it all with Frank Robinson taking the collar. The Twins were never really in this one despite Homers from the Killer and Valdespino.

By the way, Paul was a double short of the cycle instead of the usual triple. Moe Drabowsky gave up his first run since June 30, some 26 shutout innings.
