Yanks broke a 1-1 tie in the 6th sending 10 men to the plate, lead by recent call-up Roy White, notching 6 runs off Sudden Sam McDowell who suddenly lost his control and then the game. Yanks closed out the game adding three more, making this a 10-1 rout.

The sweep of the two game set gave the Yanks a measure of revenge after the Indians took them to the woodshed last week. Sam McDowell tied George Brunet fir the dubious honor of most losses.

NOTES: Every position player for the Sox got a hit, in fact, George Scott was the only one with just one safety. Yastrzemski is experiencing a power shortage, not having homered since July 4. Dave McNally hopes to never see the Sox again. Second time in a week he has gotten shelled, giving up 15 runs in just 5 innings pitched. On the bright side, Wally Bunker relieved in both games and allowed just one run in 10 innings.
