To determine the Player of the Year, the main batting statistical categories are used. The leader boards is assembled and points are established for each place, 1st place is 10 points down to 10th which is with 1 point. If a player is tied on a particular category, the sum of the place points are added together then divided by the number sharing that total. For instance, Bob Allison and Paul Blair both lead the league with 11 tripled. So I add 10 points for 1st and 9 for second thus each player gets 9.5 points. So, not that it should be a surprise, but here us the race as August comes to a close.
