The Tigers raced out to a 4-0 lead in this, the rubber game between two teams steamrolling in opposite directions, Jerry Lumpe and Jim Northrup providing the offense. Bottom 7 Earl Wilson must have been tiring as Tony Oliva got the home club within one. Just to add insult to injury, Earl Wilson gave the Motown boys breathing room by going deep himself off Ron Kline clinching the series for the Bengals.
