The Orioles raced out to a 3-0 lead against Clyde Wright and the Angels going into the bottom of the 5th. Then the bottom fell out on Pete Richert as the Cherubs sent 11 men to the plate, tallying 7 runs capped off by a three run blast by Rick Reichardt off Eddie Watt. Three Angel relievers held off the visitors to snare the opening game of the second doubleheader in two days.
