Five straight hits in the top of the 2nd by the Indians scoring four runs off Jim Kaat. Two solo homers stretched the lead to 6-1 n the way to an eventual 9-3 victory by the visitors. Sam McDowell went strong innings winning his 10th.

NOTES: Sudden Sam became the 4th Cleveland started to have double digit victories. But just as Sudden, Sam only had 4 and 5 whiffs in his last two starts. Max Alvis is mired in a 1-21 slump. Cesar Tovar lead the Junior Circuit on two baggers. Tony O.ima is riding a 6 game hit streak. Jerry Zimmerman drove in his first run since July 1, giving him a whopping total of three.
