Going for the win, Kaycee pinch hit for Chuck Dobson and did rally but left the bases open and an opening for the Tribe to sweep the twin bill. Lew Krausse how has been lights out in relief could only get one out, and that was a sac bunt. Lee Maye dealt the death knell and the home club put another in the left column.

But a miscue by Bell himself opened the doors for the Yanks in the third and the visitors did not stop until 12 men went to the plate scoring 7 runs. The teams traded a pair of runs in the 6th and the Yanks added two more in the 8th to route the league leading Bosox.
