The Twins seem to be getting their mojo back as they assaulted Tom Phoebus in the very first inning plating 4 as once again Bob Allison was right smack dab in the middle homering yet again. Tony Oliva added a two run shot later as Jim Perry took a shutout into the 8 where Frank Robinson broke it up. But in the end, the Twins took both ends of the twin bill.

Bob Allison provided all the Jim Merritt would need when he went yard in the 2nd. The Twinkies would add three more off of knuckleballer Eddie Fisher to make the victory easier. Gene Brabender was solid as only the mistake to Bobby Allison but it was enough to spiral him to defeat.

What a game! Each teams aces firing blanks for 10 innings without breaking even though each team had runners in scoring position in two different innings. Finally, likely exhausted, Jim Lonborg cracked as Steve Whitaker went yard giving the Yanks an unlikely victory.

Paul Blair and Frank Robinson got the ball rolling for the Orioles as they jumped ahead 3-0 early but Harmon Killebrew got them within 1. The Birds still lead by 1 going into the 9th but Stu Miller could not hold on as Twins mainstay Bobby Allison tied the game forcing extras. The home club finally emerged victorious thanks to Davy Johnson.
