Game stayed scoreless through regulation, Tony Pierce giving up a scant 4 hits but John Hiller trumped him by not only keeping the Athletics hitless but facing just the bare minimum. The contest stretched to the bottom of the 11th when the Tigers strung together three singles to steal the back end of the doubleheader.
