The battle for American League supremacy continued and again, the Red Sox jumped on Gary Peters in the 1st curtosy of a three base hit by, who else?, Carl Yastrzemski driving in a pair. The Peters lost the plate and would up walking in a run. The Pale Hose squared the contest in the 3rd when Pete Ward went deep. Once the Chisox got going, the Bosox could not stop the runaway train as the visitors put up 8 unanswered runs after the first to square the series and pull even in the standings.
