BALTIMORE (60-66) @ MINNESOTA (69-60)

STARTING PITCHERS

9Y (7-14 6.15) 10Y (9-3 2.31)

The ultimate pitchers duel unfolded at the Met as to veterans came out throwing darts. Neither team made much of a threat, the Birds giving the better of the meager opportunities. Jim Perry entered the 11th but was tiring as both Boog Powell and Paul Blair singled then Frank Robinson proved his pedigree crushing a massive homer into the second tier of the bleachers taking the lead. Stu Miller locked down the victory for the visitors

SCORING PLAY

TOP 11 .. Powell singled. Blair singled. F. Robinson homered scoring three runs. BAL 3 MIN 0

NOTES: 9th loss in the last 10 for the Twins as they spiral all out of contention. The offense has been, frankly, offensive as they managed only three singles off Pete Richert who has been miserable this year, but had the game of the season in this one but just his luck, no run support. It has to make you wonder where the Orioles would be if Frank Robby did not miss a month.

STAR OF THE GAME: 2-4 HR 3RBIs
