Stange allowed just a single and Cisco Carlos, making his major league debut 20 of 21 flirting with a no hitter as the only runner reached on an error. Top 7, the presumed league MVP sent one into the upper deck in right for the first Red Sox hit and not much after getting a new ball from home plate umpire Nestor Chylak, the Boomer matched Yaz’s feat. And that was all there was!
