BOSTON (78-44) @ CHICAGO (80-43) game 1

STARTING PITCHERS
14X (19-7 2.25) 16X (16-5 2.34)
Two of the premier pitchers in the Junior Circuit face off and did not disappoint as they went at it like two heavyweight prizefighters. Jim Landis, recently plucked from the waiver wire, endeared himself to the Hub faithful with a big fly off former teammate Gary Peters. Pete Ward responded in the last of the 4th putting the Windy City boys ahead. The BOSOX chased Peters from the contest in the 8th as they surged ahead only for Jim Lonborg to run out of gas and surrender the lead that converted into a Pale Hose victory.
