Sudden Sam did not seem to have it on this day as the Angels scored hung a four spot on him and the Indians after just three innings. The hone clubs scratched back with single runs, curtesy of the long ball to pull within one going into the last of the 9th. A double play saved Minnie Rojas in the 8th but the 9th Don Demeter doubled on the tying run. Top 10, Sonny Siebert came on but the Indian defense betrayed him as the committed three errors gave the Halos the overtime victory.

NOTES: Big game for newly acquired Hawk Taylor who homered and drove in three. McDowell righted himself after a rough opening, collecting 13 whiffs over 7 innings. At one point, Sudden Sam punched out 8 straight. And he added yet another 10+ strikeout game. In August, in six starts, McDowell whiffed 66 in just 44 innings.
