CALIFORNIA (55-69) @ CLEVELAND (66-58)

STARTING PITCHERS

13YW (4-6 3.55) 9YZ (5-5 2.94)

Like a heavyweight title prize fight, the Angels and Indians jabbed at each other. Jose Cardinal inflicted the first blow with a 3rd inning homer but Jack Hamilton gave it back the very next inning. The Tribe held in to the razor thin lead until Orlanda Pena blew it, Rick Reichardt driving in the tying run. From there, the two teams played deep into the night before Lee Maye doubled in the winning run in the bottom of the 17th.
