BALTIMORE (57-62) @ CHICAGO (77-38) game 1

STARTING PITCHERS

13XW (12-11 3.35) 16X (15-5 2.18)

A nice quiet game for three innings turned into a Donnybrook as both teams erupted for 5 run innings, the latter almost squandering the full Chisox lead. The on,y difference was the Pale Hose was able to sneak across one extra run in a previous inning. Neither starter acquitted themselves well but the ageless wonder Hoyt Wilhelm kelts his former team at bay allowing the hone club to snag the opening game of the twin bill.
