Larry Brown was the difference between two contenders as Joe Sparma made one mistake, hanging a breaking ball that was deposited into the left field seats. Then Larry got the sending run home the hard way, take a Gladding fastball between the numbers. The pair of tallies were plenty for Johnny O’Donoghue who took a no hitter into the 8th, settling on a one hitter in tossing a complete game whitewash.
