CLEVELAND (63-53) @ WASHINGTON (40-77)

STARTING PITCHERS
14Y (13-6 1.79) 9YZ (5-20 4.18)
The ultimate pitchers duel came down to the fielding prowess or lack thereof of one of the two starters. An errant throw resulting in a two base error gave Max Alvis the opportunity to deliver the only run of the game. The Washington club did not go quietly as they loaded the bases in the 9th on a single, error and a walk with nobody out. Hargan proceeded to whiff Freddy Valentine then induce Dick Nen to tap into a 1-2-3 double play to end the game.
