FRIDAY AUGUST 11,1967

BALTIMORE (52-57) @ DETROIT (63-47) game1

STARTING PITCHERS

13XW (11-11 3.48) 9 (4-2 3.71)

Tigers got on the board first, backup catcher Jim Price doubling to drive in a run. And it looked like it might be enough as Dave Wickersham was totally in control allowing only three runners thru 7 innings. Mgr. Mayo Smith inexplicably sent Mike Marshall to start the 8th and Blair took him deep to tie the game. Three batters later, the Orioles had the lead and ultimately the victory.
