The Athletics jumped on Dave Morehead early chasing him with six runs by the 3rd inning. Once again, Jim ‘Catfish’ Hunter showed his batting prowess by driving in the first two runs of the game. Hunter spun a three hit complete game, his only blemish being a Carl Yastrzemski solo home run.
