Pete Ward went deep in the 6th off Sonny Siebert and that line run stood up until the bottom of the 9th when Mgr Eddie Stanley chose to go for a double play (infield back) with runners on 1st and 3rd thus allowing the tying run to score. Top 11 the Chisox reverted to their old moniker of Go-Go-Sox as Tommy McCraw sped home from 1st with the winning run.

NOTES: Sox had a chance to go ahead in the 10th when Ken Berry tripled with 2 outs. It was his league tying 9th. The Indians also had a chance to tie it in the bottom of 11 when Jim King greeted his old teammates with a single and chugged into second when Walt Williams botched it in left.
