NOTES: The Sox have now won 8 in a row. Tony Conigliaro continued his impressive slugging, hitting 10 bombs in July collecting 29 RBIs in the process. And, oh by the way, is riding an 11 game hitting streak. Lee Stange added to his resume, vying for pitcher of the month with his 9th victory. On the flip side, the Twins now have lost 6 in a row, free falling from the pennant chase. Cesar Tovar is in Ted throes of an 0-17 skid. Al Worthington might be succumbing to age as he has been nicked for nuns in three straight games, or maybe the Beantowners just have his number. Bob Allison is one triple behind the league lead and is on a 7 game hit streak. On the bright side, Rid Carew has returned from his 2 week military hitch.

STAR OF THE GAME: 1-4 GRAND SLAM
