The Indians built a 4-2 lead off Gene Brabender after three innings who was making his second start of the season. Big Gene settled down to retire the last 12 he faced but Steve Hargan kept the Birds at bay with 7 strong innings. 4 in the 8th put a bow on it for the visitors.
