The Angels sprinted off to a 6-0, Jimmie Hall crushing a grand slam after batting in the 2nd chasing Darrell Brandon in the process. They still held a 6-4 lead entering the bottom the 8th when the Sox plated five culminating in a George Scott home run. Johnny Wyatt, the last of six Beantown pitchers got the win.
