Yanks visit Disneyland as a big doubleheader sweep in Kansas City. The Angels embarrassingly dropped 2 of 3 to the woeful Senators. Both clubs need to get moving in the right path soon.
Top 1, Yanks get off fast as Horace Clarke sneaks a double down the right field line. Tommy Tresh promptly singled him home for the the run of the contest. New York wasted a bases loaded opportunity in the 2nd when Clarke hit into a DP. In fact the Pinstripers gad runners on in each inning if the contest as Willhite proved the theory that a double play is the pitchers best friend. Talbot himself only had one clean inning , twice working out to bases jammed trials. Bottom six, the Halos strung together three singles, Satriano picking up the RBI to tie the game. Bottom 7, Hal Reniff came on and it got ugly quick. Fregosi walked with one out and raced home on a triple by Jimmie Hall. Reiechardt got Hall home with a single, scoring awhile later on a Satriano double. Knoop put up the 4th run driving home Satriano. Bottom 8, Fregosi tagged Reniff with solo shot bumping the lead to 6-1. Top 9, Charley smith and John Kennedy doubled for a run, and Clarke singled home another making this contest interesting. With 2 on, one out, Rojas got Tresh looking, Mantle looked to have tied the game but his sky high drive died on the warning track for the last out.
