The middle game of the weekend in the home of Rick ‘n’ Roll. Cleveland looks to muster up some offense after Tommy John shut them out the previous evening. It will be a tough chore as Joe Horlen, he with the microscopic ERA, ties the rubber against Gary Bell.
Both sides went in order in the first two frames, top three Bell lost the strike zone as his third free pass of the inning forced in tge game’s first run. Top 4. A single and stolen base by McCraw set up Ron Hansen who singled him home. Meanwhile, The home club were even more anemic against Horlen who kept a no-hitter alive until two outs into the 8th when Vic Davalillo snuck one through the infield for a hit. Joel shook that off and finished off the Indians going the distance for the complete game shutout.
