Great pitching matchup in Charm City. Dean Chance looking for a fresh start in Minneapolis while Jim Palmer looks to build on his excellent world championship season. Top 1, Twins treated getting 2 aboard who stayed there when Carew whiffed to end the frame. O’s went in order in their turn of the initial ducat. Top Two, Twinkies strand another two as they did in the 3rd. Bottom 2, B.Robby lead off with a shot into the bleachers putting the home team ahead. Orioles tried to add to the lead in the 3rd when Aparicio tripled but left aboard. A Palmer double and Aparicio got things cooking until Blair bounced into a double play. In a last gasp, Killebrew doubled opening the 9th. Rich Reece pinch ran and made it to 3rd on a pair of groundouts. With the tying run 90 feet away, Earl Batty meekly rolled out to second ending the game.

STAR OF THE GAME 1-3 HR RBI
