Faced 2 batters in 9thGame was scoreless thru the first three innings altho both teams did squander opportunities, Cleveland leaving 2 on in the 1st and KC filling the sacks on the 2nd only for Sudden Sam to whiff the side. Sam was not as fortunate in the 4th. After Charles fouled out, the next 5 reach, 2 walks and 2 singles. Nossek drove in a pair with a double then 2 batters later Hershberger single two more home. Cleveland had their opportunities against Nash, putting 2 runners on in the next three innings only to leave them all stranded. Finally running out of steam (and magic) Nash walked the first 2 in the 9th. Mgr Al Dark replace him with Jack Aker. Two singles and a sac fly made it a one run game before Aker got Whitfield swinging to preserve the win.
